Two beautiful shows opened yesterday- Island Reverence with Taiwanese American Art Council (exhibiting 2 of my Nature inspired pieces and an Astronaut from Flowers Of The Sky series) and a portrait show at Axel Gallery (hosting 4 of my portraits inspired by mythologies around femininity and womanhood). Come see them in person ☺️🖼️

So excited for this group exhibition! Join us for the opening on May 16th (TODAY) 11-5pm, or visit anytime before June 21st. Hop on a quick ferry from Lower Manhattan to Governors Island (house 17) and feel miles away from the city’s hustle. Breathe in island air, and engage with art while listening to the birds. Thank you so much @taac2014 for including me 🙏

Something new I tried: a snake skin cast in plaster as the base for a flower oil painting. To me, placing flowers and snakes together creates a feeling that is both beautiful and unsettling. It brings to mind two sides of femininity 🌸 soft, fragile, sensual, mysterious, and 🐍 intuitive, wise, and powerful.

Lately I have been having a lot of fun channeling my inner baroque and embracing intuitive world building, where the only thing that makes sense is the new feeling colors and shapes create when they interact and morph into each other.
