Die Protagonistin versucht nach schlaflosen Nächten, der Hitze der Stadt zu entkommen und merkt dabei, dass jegliche Versuche zu fliehen, die Klimakrise nur vorantreiben. So begibt sie sich auf eine Odyssee durch Widersprüche und Fragen. LANDKRANK ist eine Theateradaption des autofiktionalen Essays Landkrank (Mal de Terre, 2024) von Nikolaj Schultz und verhandelt die Conditio humana in Zeiten der Klimakrise. Im Zentrum steht eine junge Figur, die, geplagt von Hitze und innerer Unruhe, zunehmend in die Widersprüche ihres eigenen Handelns gerät: Jeder Versuch, der Krise zu entkommen, scheint sie weiter zu verstärken. Die Inszenierung folgt dieser Bewegung zwischen Flucht und Erkenntnis und verdichtet sie zu einer sprachgetragenen Performance. Ausgehend vom Text entwickelt die von Valerian Zim inszenierte Adaption eine eigenständige Form, in der Monolog, Körper und Raum ineinandergreifen. Ein reduziertes Bühnenbild sowie Live-Musik schaffen eine sinnliche Ebene, die den Text ergänzt und konterkariert. Als weitgehend solistisches Format, getragen von Safira Robens, mit Live-Musik von Nick Dalscheid stellt LANDKRANK die Frage, wie wir unser Handeln in einer sich verändernden Welt neu denken können - zwischen individueller Verantwortung und kollektiver Realität. ‘Romance’ by @fontainesband is out since a week. A Zeitgeistian masterpiece of art, the album like no other manages to capture many of the fragmented, disoriented, contradictory and often tormented affects that so defines the times we live in. In Land Sickness, under the term of ‘new existentialism’, I precisely tried to investigate how the moral and emotional landscape of the human being is metamorphosing and splintering in the Anthropocene - but as always, the power of art not only to mirror but also transform affects is endlessly stronger than that of any philosophy. Nonetheless - or precisely therefore - I am so proud to have added a little grain of inspiration to the record. As every seamstress knows, if you want to fix a broken piece of clothe, it might be a good idea to find out how it shattered in the first place - and probably, the same thing counts for the existential fabric of the human being as well. If so, the album is not a bad place to start; If not for hope, then perhaps for soothing - or for ‘Romance’. After all, as Viveiros de Castro and Danowski taught us, there are many different ways to inhabit the end of times….
