when i first started djing, my original idea was to b2b with a sushi chef
been going by my government name for a little while now, but i never let that idea go
dj nigiri was conceptually born out of observing a sushi chef’s attention to detail when serving omakase or a dj building/ performing a set
the two have always felt like acts of services, a strong thread for me, leading me to naming my first recorded mix years ago omakase 4 your ears
the relationship between fresh caught specialty fish or fresh picked ripe tracks
tonight it’s a reality
i get the chance to b2b with @sushinoznyc and @shingoakikuni ;) from 9-12
i never imagined it would come to fruition in this capacity, or alongside some of the best sushi chefs in the nation

an ode to that younger version of me with a lil dream ☁️
djing is not like riding a bike, you have to do it everyday or else you forget ;)

outside my comfort zone, playing a new continent, in a city i’d never been to, a room that didn’t know me
the sound i’ve been shaping at home found its way here, and i’m excited to see where it leads next
