Tansi 👋🏾 My name is Nikita Kahpeaysewat, my traditional name is Usinee Iskwew ᕒᐅᐨᐠ ᐅᐧᒪᐣ (Rock Woman). I am a 24-year-old Nêhiyaw (Plains Cree) from Moosomin First Nation. Currently, I am majoring in Environmental Science at MRU where my focus is on water quality on Indigenous communities. In my freetime, I love creating makeup looks that intertwine with my culture. Photography has brought so many amazing people into my life. It’s taught me more than I ever expected and opened doors I’m truly grateful for. Nikita has had our images published in Fashion Magazine and even transformed into murals — which is pretty surreal to see.
