After countless hours of designing, stitching and draping, here’s our version of Paro and Devdas. Narrating this duos iconic story, we presented these looks at the pan-NIFT styling competition held at the International Film Festival India, Goa. It was a surreal experience filled with curveballs and challenges, so winning our category felt like a dream come true!
I don't even know where to start with the details that we put into both the looks. The ominous red flower on Devdas' cape matches the one above Paro's ear. My favourite design choice is Paro's saree - when she was running down the staircase in the last few scenes of the movie - which we exaggerated to a 7-foot-long train! From the detailing and opening in the sleeves of her blouse, to the way his dhoti is draped, everything was carefully planned and executed.
