The pink haired crypto punk woman collaborates with AI to produce transcendental works that explore themes of vulnerability, trauma, disability, social hierarchy, innocence and divinity — probing how these ideas may evolve in a “transhumanist future”. Since beginning to work with AI in 2017, her work has been sold at Sotheby’s London and Christie’s New York was incorporated as part of the permanent collection of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) and has been exhibited in galleries, museums, and festivals all over the world. NPR named Silver a thought leader in the application of AI technology. Claire Silver is a pseudonym! Her online avatar, wide-eyed and pink-haired, feels so familiar to her that she’s sometimes startled to see her real face when she looks in the mirror. “One of the arguments I see used against AI-Collaborative work is that it’s ‘soulless,’” Silver writes in her artist statement. “I see AI as liberation, as an extension of the imagination, deeply personal, inexorable from the artist using it.
