View from the booth and the last tune of the night from the @nightdancingncl session in Newcastle.
This isn’t to highlight my dad dancing but the process of giving energy from the booth to ignite the floor. Usually I’m a bit more down tempo and reflective with the choice of last tune but during current times I’m pushing the euphoric ending, leaving people on a high with a last minute blast of energy for the journey home.
Note my signal at the end of the clip to the sound man and security that this is the last one for the night. It’s important not to over stay your welcome and let your ego drag the session on for another hour. People who work in the venue wanna go home too. And by communicating to the security that this is the last one it means you don’t get the premature cut off and abrupt ending. Gotta land the plane smoothly 😀

Our monthly Friday at the @tannersarmsnewcastle is looking a bit different this month. Allie will be anchoring the night and has @maffter_ and @lewwil down for the ride. Expect the same great music. We are super excited to be playing the 2nd Friday each month at @tannersarmsnewcastle . As part of their new music program they have enlisted some great crews (and great friends) from around the Newcastle scene, all of whom share the same values, good music, eclecticism, community, good sound and inclusivity.
It’s been a little while since we have done anything with any sort of regularity so this is going to be great and a good opportunity for our friends and past dancers to come together, have a bite and some drinks in a music pub we all love.
