This year will not be complete without celebrating one of my major wins of becoming a Canadian Citizen 💃💃💃. On July 6th 2022, I officially took an oath of Canadian Citizenship. Oh Canada, thank you for giving our children the opportunities we never had, thank you for making the children of nobody (immigrants) become somebody without knowing anybody🙏🙏🙏
Timeline:
Application submitted on June 1st 2021
AOR : Sept 2021
Test request : Feb 4th 2022
Test done: 28th of feb 2022 ( last day to do the test😫)
Citizenship Ceremony: July 6th 2022
NB: if you are the type that doesnt like or find history/current affairs interesting like me, I would suggest you start reading the discovery Canada early enough, do not wait till you get your Citizenship test invite before you start, the test was a nightmare for me and I had 18/20 (all pass na pass🥰)

Basically, major bread companies in Canada were accused of price fixing for years, so consumers who bought packaged bread are getting compensation through a class action settlement. Canadian packaged bread class action settlement is essentially money being distributed to eligible Canadians who bought packaged bread products during the affected years.
The lawsuit alleges major grocery and bread companies participated in bread price-fixing in Canada
Who could get money:
Canadians who bought packaged bread products (bread, buns, bagels, wraps, tortillas, etc.) for personal use during that period.
No receipts were required.
People had to file a claim before the deadline which we shared the link for this sometimes last year.
The money is a compensation because consumers may have paid inflated bread prices for years due to alleged anti-competitive behavior.

Chronicles of high income earners🤣🤣🤣 this is CRA's season to smile at high income earners, imagine having to pay back $13k + after filing your taxes.
She actually made a good point, CRA is suppose to request for our proof of expenses first before taking a big cut because what???

Constant changes in Canadian immigration law has indeed affected so many people and it led to people losing their jobs in return.
People dont really know what else to do, imagine how patiently people were waiting for the TR to PR route, only to come out with alot of disappointments to others.
As it is right now, what is the easiest ways to get PR for people in similar situation. It is sad to see how quick things has changed😪

So many people have been complaining about these passport issues lately, and our DMs are full of similar complaints. If only they could improve their customer service, it would go a long way.
I also have a passport renewal I’m supposed to do, but when I think about the headache that comes with the process, I’ve decided to continue using my Canadian passport alongside my expired Nigerian passport until further😏
I hope they resolve this issue and make life easier for people. Imagine how getting a Canadian passport comes with so much ease and convenience, they should have improved the process and make it more seamless.
