Rest in peace, majestic Dakota — beloved wolf dog, guardian soul, gentle giant, and forever part of our hearts. Now you are reunited with your brother, Azul, running free together again somewhere beyond this world. Though you have left your physical body behind, your spirit and your love remain woven into the lives of everyone who knew you. We will miss you deeply, but there is comfort in knowing you lived thirteen extraordinary years — a life filled with adventure, devotion, love, freedom, and family. A dog could not have been more cherished. Dakota, you left behind gifts far greater than you probably ever knew. When I dog sat you in Maui, you quietly changed something in me forever. Before you, I never considered myself a “dog person.” But through you, I finally understood the magic of loving a dog and being loved back by one. You opened a door in my heart I didn’t even know existed. Because of you, Millie is now part of our family — and I will always thank you for leading me there. Your mama and Papa showed me what unconditional love for an animal truly looks like. Some people joke that I spoil Millie too much, but they never witnessed the way Nico loved you — completely, endlessly, wholeheartedly. You were each other’s world. A bond so pure and deep that anyone lucky enough to witness it could feel it immediately. It is impossible to imagine coming to Hawaii and not seeing you there anymore. I will miss the sound of you happily crunching on chicken feet like they were gourmet delicacies prepared by a five-star chef. I will even miss the bloody little liver bite marks mysteriously appearing around the house — tiny Dakota signatures left everywhere. And the car… always gloriously covered in your fur - I will miss all of it more than words can say. You were larger than life, Dakota. Wild and gentle all at once. A majestic soul with the heart of a best friend. Blessings to you as you cross the rainbow bridge, beautiful boy. Run free now with Azul. Chase the wind. Rest in the sun. Be whole again. You will be missed with all my heart. Forever loved. Forever remembered

Dakota was a wolf. A husky. But most of all my son. For those of you out there that have wolves know that they aren’t like other dogs. Not that all dogs aren’t special, cuz they are the best!! But wolves move different. No barking. Deep thinking. It’s on their terms. And I love it. lol. Dakota came into our lives like thunder in the city, and left howling in the rains of the jungle in Maui. Our animals teach us so much. The list is long with dakota, and his passing has changed me forever. I’ll miss you immensely, Dakota. My beautiful brother of my heart❤️ He was everything to me he might be a wolf dog but he was always more then that. ever since I was a little I would always mess with him and pull his tail and then one day I tried to push him down the stairs🙂‍↕️ and I missed him and I fell down😭🙏🏻 but growing older with him has been the most beautiful blessing and I love him past all the stars in the galaxy 🌌 ❤️❤️❤️ rip cuculinu 🐺🌺💫

I walked into a used guitar shop in the great land of Milwaukee… the “portland of the third coast” where I grew up… immediately saw this thing and fell in love with the hollow body sage and browns… i took her into a private room with amps and my ears and heart were smitten… i’ve fallen in love with many instruments since but i keep coming back to “sage”… it just has the right dialed frequency that hits me for me.. that and growing up listening to artists like Santana to have a bespoke version of the paul reed smith in the studio will be an eternal clutch. Till death do us part ☠️🙏🏼⚡️🎶

When I was a teenager I once had an experience that only really happens once. In playing piano and violin since the age of 3 and teaching myself guitar as a young adult, it was hard for other instruments to find their ways into my heart.. So one day i went to said music store with my brother, @fiddlehammer , and saw a beautiful instrument on the wall… the F-style mandolin… love at first sight… i pulled it off the wall and started messing around with it and i sounded terrible… haha… then the shop owner quickly came over and said it was tuned like a violin… all of a sudden the music theory for violin unlocked in my head mixed with how i played guitar and instantly I laid into the mandolin in the shop playing excerpts from concertos… the ears and heart caught up to the eyes and that was it… i’ve been playing mandolin ever since… I even was 4th chair in the oldest and largest mandolin orchestra in the world which happened to be in my home town, milwaukee… i was about 20 years younger than the next youngest person in it so that didn’t last long but it’s a great story for the grand kids!
