Story time….
In the beginning of the year, I went to my doctor with a heart issue that I was dealing with for a while.
After 9 months of testing prodding, scans, pokes, and a gauntlet of things… No one could come up with an answer that made sense. I was on three different medications and was constantly going to different hospitals to spend money on tests - and then asked to wait weeks for results. All for nothing.
In late October, I gave up and said I would figure out a different plan.
At that same time, I got approached by a new client that wanted me to help figure out a better marketing/communication strategy for their customers. It just so happened they were weight loss company.
After meeting with them, I figured the best way for me to fix their inefficiencies was to take the program myself. …and heck I could afford to lose a few pounds. 🤷🏻
Fast forward 60 days…
With only a diet change and 150+ push-ups a day, I’ve lost 50lbs and 4 inches off my waist.
But the real miraculous part of the weight loss is that my heart issue has been completely gone for more than a month now. So while I still don’t know exactly what I had… Just treating my body better I was able to heal from the inside out.
(As for the client… I was able to create a communication strategy and workflow that will decrease their customer drop off rate, further engage with their customers, gather more marketing assets, and lead to more referrals.)

I had 2 big takeaways from this experience:
1. It took me 20 years to add 50 lbs and only 60 days to remove it. That is crazy to think about.
2. As I get older my diet needs to be more of a focal point. Do I need to eat healthy all the time…? Absolutely not. I just need to do the right things a lot more often than the wrong things.
Don’t worry, I’m not going to become a diehard that lectures people on this… But with a lot of friends my age… I just wanted to share my story in case someone was going through something similar and needed some direction.

While I don’t have the resources, budget or expertise to play with the big boys… It was a great excuse to get the band back together and have a fun evening of filming some trick shots.
