Loved the story, loved the process and creative liberty, loved working with @penguinukbooks . It’s not always so seamless, but this time it was a pleasure from start to finish

Trying out a slightly different illustration and lettering style for this Odyssey-inspired travel journal published by @unionsqandco 🏺✨ It’s a bit brighter and more illustration-driven than what I usually do. What do you think??

While in nyc, my mom picked up a copy of this collection of Christmas stories I designed for @barnesandnoble and, a couple weeks ago, I got to read it to my little nephews ❤️ Wishing you all a lovely holiday season!

Here’s a fun one I’ve been meaning to share for some time. I did this sketch for Apple’s Today at Apple series—my goal was to try and blend lots of different historical type forms and still make it feel cohesive and modern (and legible, obvis). As with many projects, by the time it’s approved, it has changed quite a bit. Though I like the final result (swipe right to see), I still really enjoy the fluidity of this first comp. I also snuck in a little procreate timelapse cause why not.

I’m so happy to be sharing this collaboration with @littleandco for @bionaturae_organics 🍝 my lettering sits beside a beautiful landscape by @steven_noble_illustrations 💚 Thanks to the folks at Little for thinking of me for this really fun rebrand project—I can’t wait to see this on the shelves!

Here's one of the directions I presented for a series of logos I worked on last summer for @baboontothemoon 's Miami collection. The inspiration was the Art Deco signage Miami is famous for, just way chunkier. This sketch didn't get chosen, but I'm a sucker for this type of lettering, so here it is anyway! I hope everyone's week is off to a good start!

I was delighted to work on this bit of neon lettering in Japanese for @havas @havaslynxeu and @sanofi ! This piece was created as part of a global campaign to spread awareness for Pompe disease. Typographically, I love working with constraints informed by specific mediums, so figuring out how to create connections within and between strokes and characters, so the tubes could be lit correctly was especially fun. In fact, the non-lit parts of the composition have become my favorite.

I received the advanced bound proof of the book cover I designed for the upcoming book The New Life by Tom Crewe published by @PenguinUkBooks and I am so pleased with how it turned out! Because it's set in the late 1800s I was asked to explore an Arts and Crafts / Art Nouveau look for the lettering and ornament, a style I particularly like working in! Many thanks to Kris Potter for thinking of me for this project, I can't wait to start reading it!

I had a great time working on this project for @VictoriasSecret ’s Ramadan campaign 💜💙 I prepared a series of modular fauxsaics that could be used with their monogram, a mosaic version of their signature perfume bottle, and a decorative floral element at different scales (the mosaics needed to be redrawn with three different “tile” sizes and therefore increasing degrees of simplification). This allowed the Victoria’s Secret team to use and recombine these elements on everything from 9-foot window displays and full scale floor decals to clothing tags and signage. They also made this great time-lapse video showing a glimpse of the process! Thanks to Vanessa, Maureen, and the rest of the VS team for this fun collaboration!!

Thinking back to the time when I embroidered the entire cover of the Fargo book by Noah Hawley! I looked at tons of old needlework samplers to create something that was both old-timey and ornate, but also hid tons of references to the show. Having zero cross stitch experience, this took much longer than expected! Swipe to see an in-progress shot!

I’ve been wanting to work with @matt.dorfman at the @nytimes for years and that opportunity finally came a couple months ago in the form of this cover for 125th anniversary of the NYT Book Review. Matt and I worked collaboratively to design something that references the long history of the publication—Considering I got to draw blacklatter and a ton of floursihes, it’s no surprise that it was a blast from start to finish!
