I wrote about „Casanova 20: Or, Hot World” by Davey Davis for the new issue of The Anarchist Review of Books. „Casanova 20” asks what it means to live and die on your own terms, and Davis’s work is as much a novel about loss as it is about the desperation of living in a society that doesn’t value life. I’ve spent a few weeks in late fall haunted by this narrative about intimacity and corporeal melancholia in the aftermath of the COVID pandemic, as well as AIDS crisis, and I keep thinking about it.
I love writing for @anarchistreviewofbooks but more importantly, I love reading it. The new issue is amazing, subscribe!
Had the incredible pleasure of talking to Julie Mehretu, whose „Kairos / Hauntological Variations” opened last month at @msnwarszawa . We talked about migration, political possibilities of abstraction, painting being a time-based medium, and, of course, the hauntings of the past. See those paintings in person whenever you have a chance.

Talking with @catherinelacey_ about the limits of knowing (oneself and the others), Emma Goldman, the joy of being a listener, and revenge as motivation was such a pleasure. The interview, in Polish, is now out in @tygodnikpowszechny . For my non-Polish speaking friends, ask me about the version before translation. „Biography of X” was published in Poland by @wydawnictwoczarne , and I can’t wait to talk to more people about it.
