IRONMAN 70.3 Gulf Coast 🌊🌧️
4:58:23 ⏱️
This one was a solid day.
The overnight swells changed the swim setup, but the adjusted course ended up fast with the current moving. Had a rough moment early getting settled, but stayed composed and kept moving forward.
The bike was the highlight for me.
Held steady for a 2:32 bike split (21.27 mph avg) and spent the entire ride moving up through the field. Super pumped to see the results of the training, but I also knew the run still needed legs, so the focus was controlled effort instead of burning matches.
The run started with light drizzle on lap one… then laps two and three turned into full rain and heavy wind.
Just stayed steady and kept clicking off miles to finish the half marathon in 2:01.
🏊 Swim: 14:07
🚴 Bike: 2:32:40
🏃 Run: 2:01:39
⏱️ Overall: 4:58:23
* It was really special to share this experience with my biggest supporter my Dad.
Huge thank you to everyone who’s supported this journey — training partners, group ride buds, friends checking in, people following along quietly in the background — thank you.
Still building. 📈

Rage Triathlon — this one means more.

The race was a full test from the start.
The swim almost unraveled early — breathing got off, rhythm broke, and it took a deliberate reset just to keep the race alive.
Out of the water, I committed to the plan and went to work on the bike — controlled effort, but I started hunting and taking back time.
The bike became the turning point, building momentum instead of forcing numbers, and setting up the rest of the day.
By the run, it was about holding form and staying composed — and it turned into one of the most solid runs I’ve put together.
Not perfect, but resilient — and a race that was rebuilt, and earned.
But the real story is everything behind the start line.
Torrence — from getting me into my first 5K back in 2020, to pushing me into cycling… and now out there documenting the race 📸 — full circle.
Sharron on the GoPro 🎥, Mike making the trip out, and Ray pulling up after his ride — I appreciate all of you. That support matters more than you know.
And honestly… none of this happens without the people who got me back here in the first place.
A year ago, I was struggling with everyday movement. Pain was constant. This wasn’t guaranteed.
Huge thank you to Dr. Chinedu O. Nwasike and the team at Nevada Orthopedic & Spine Center — for giving me the opportunity to get back to this.
To Dr. Eric Klein (Canyon Lake Physical Therapy) — for rebuilding the foundation and getting me strong again.
And to Dr. Derrick Nguyenton (Echelon PT) — this goes deeper.
From addressing the root issues (back/knee), dialing both bikes, to being a welcoming presence on my first group ride… and setting the standard as one of the strongest local riders.
That transition from just “getting healthy” → actually becoming a cyclist doesn’t happen without that kind of guidance.
From surgery → to strength → to performance.
Grateful to be back. Grateful to be building again.
Gulf Coast is the target.
Let’s keep going.

First open water swim! Thankful for @nickdizon showing me the ropes and calming me down when panic creeped in. No walls. No safety net. Different mindset than the pool.
The Spring Tour of St. George was outstanding 🙌🏽
@ride_southern_utah thanks for organizing another RAD event! @echelon_pt and Nate are absolute 🔨’s mile 35 was pretty much a solo adventure from there 😂. A year ago in a few weeks i had a lower Back surgery and i couldn’t be more thankful to be able to enjoy this again 🙏🏽
The @fuelfest Pre-Party was dope! Today 10/7/23 @spiritofthestreets Tamada Sportsland will be insane!
This pic was a long time coming @bae_olsen and @nickdizon - Thank you @therealdriftnerd for capturing the moment ❤️
