12 years together. 11.5 years married.
Happy anniversary
@nickbroadhurst š¤
We got engaged after 2 weeks.
Married 5 months later.
Some people said we were crazy.
Others high-fived us.
You can read the whole story in my book Open Wideā¦
but hereās our love recipe:
(Save this for later)
1. Serve each other daily.
The little things matter most. Making the warm lemon water, the quick hug as you walk past, taking something off the otherās plate, the foot rub, really listening when they speak. These matter.
2. CCC
Crystal Clear Communication always.
3. Rituals over grand gestures.
Evenings together, dates, tech-free time, family walks and beach time. The tiny things hold the big love.
4. Radical honesty.
We talk about the messy bits. Triggers, money, sex, dreams, fears. Nothing off the table, even when it feels hard or uncomfortable.
5. Regulated nervous systems.
Sleep, good food, movement, ocean, therapy, breath, meditation, prayer, study. We take responsibility for our own health and healing instead of expecting the other to fix it.
6. Growing in the same direction.
We dream together, set intentions and goals for our businesses and life, pray, celebrate, and keep choosing growth, even when it asks us to shed old versions of ourselves.
7. The Creator at the centre.
We hand over what feels heavy, we invite in God / the Universe / Love into the relationship, and trust weāre guided.
What I know in my bones is this:
When you stay true to yourself, follow your heart and live to serve, life and business will always meet you in the most beautiful ways. It can feel scary and uncomfortable, but thatās where the deep fulfilment, inner peace and real happiness live.
Now Iād love to hear from youā¦
