I think I can officially say my hair’s now longer then it was in high school 😬

In all honesty, I hate posing for and seeing pictures of myself. I detest it in the same way some people can’t listen to audio of themselves. That’s part of the reason why more than half of the pictures that exist of me are silly. It’s so much easier to not even try to take a nice picture because it’s so far out of my comfort zone. And this can translate all too easily to passions and endeavors sometimes — that fear that what you’ll try to do won’t come out right, that your efforts will come to nothing and worst of all, that you’ll disappoint yourself.
But in almost all cases, stepping out of your comfort zone is exactly what you need. Your voice, your work, your art, the things you bring to the table are something only you can bring. And despite what your own inner critic might tell you, it is worthwhile. In the past year alone, despite the difficulty, I’ve started a voiceover career, finished a pilot script and a (looong) short story, made music, worked on some incredible sets, spent time with irreplaceable people, sparked a wonderful relationship, and took a picture I think came out pretty nice! And when looked at through that lens, I can’t help but ask myself, “What were you afraid of?”
And of course, I have to mention that sometimes, a friend can help put you at ease like no one else. Denise at
@actor.bestie is no joke ladies and gentlefellas! Taking headshots is something I DREAD, and Denise made everything seem so easy! She’s pretty awesome, hit her up for some shots, you won’t regret it!
