Thinking about my dad today. He passed away on May 11 1967 when I was in 5th grade. Not a day goes by where he's not with me. I'll never forget us finding him at home and my brother and I had to lay him down as we took him out of the shower. Luckily he didn't fall through the glass. It was a Thursday evening and it was rare moment we were all home together coming back from the super market with all 3 of us kids and mom. As my sister and I were arguing about what tv show to watch - she wanted Batman and I wanted like Peyton Place - my older brother who was in jr. high checked in on him and found him. And mom came out to get me or help my brother lay him out. My dad had been in and out of hospitals that year with heart problems and looks like he had one just as he was in the shower. I remember laying him down and getting blankets and towels to wrap around him with my brother. I made the phone call to the operator telling her we needed an ambulance. I kept reminding myself in my head to remain calm and speak slowly with the address. As soon as I was done, I went back to wrapping holding my dad and kissing him on the forehead and saying goodbye. I think as a kid knowing my dad was dealing with heart problems - i knew this day would come. So today he's been in my head and my heart as I think about how I was there to say goodbye as he left this earth. It was not scary or weird but it felt right and every year on this day I reflect on that day as it will always be special for me. Rest in peace Dad. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽❤️❤️👑👑👑💛💜💜🧡🦋🦋🦋🦄🦄🦄💜💜🧡💛💚💚💙 shout out to my brother and sister - my siblings. ✌🏽✌🏽✌🏽💜💜💜💚💚💚🦋🦋🦋🦄🦄🦄💙💙💙👑👑👑

The Stockton Filipino Accordion Players from back in the day. We recreated the photo. This time at our dear Addie Suguitan memorial Saturday in Stockton. It was both a tough day but a great day to see everyone that we grew up with. Miss Adeline was definitely in the room at the church and at the luncheon. We miss you our friend. But here we are together - I think we all took lessons from the infamous maestro GENE BARTHOLEMEW - on wilson way next to the fish pet store which later became a massage parlor. We had the best time playing our yearly recitals at the Scottish Rite Temple. We always had special guest artists like MYRON FLOREN from Lawrence Welk and NINO and APRIL STEVENS (when the deep purple falls). One concert we played music from the hit film SOUND OF MUSIC. and nor cal accordion competitions from SACTO to BERKELEY to SF and Stockton. It was cultural. Love you guys Ann Jusa @joan Cordova Flora Paguyo Teague @forcommunities

We made it here for my cousin Adeline Bohulano Suguitan Memorial service. Heart is full as we remember this beautiful soul whom I have known all my life. When we would see each other Mr we just laugh and giggle at life as we got older. It's hard to fathom that physically she is gone. It's sad because she brought everyone and all of us so much joy even with just a smile. You are missed @addababe74 I know you and our moms and Dawn and all who have gone before are together looking out for us. Rest in peace and paradise my sweet cousin. I. Memory of our 17th birthday party at Harbor Skateway (we had such a great time sharing our December bdays) - Let's ALL SKATE!! Love you Addie!🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽👑👑👑💜💜💜✌🏽✌🏽✌🏽🦋🦋🦋🦄🦄🦄🌈🌈🌈🛼🛼🛼
