These days are some of my favourite days at work, where I get to spend the whole day, uninterrupted, making the final sample of a pattern Iāve been working on. This is a throwback to last year, because I havenāt been doing as much of this lately. Thatās all about to change though š
I have so many new designs Iām working on and I canāt wait to share them all with you. Itās becoming clear that Iām going to need some help in this business though, if I want to be able to release all these designs. More on that soon!
Packing up a wholesale order š
Did you know NH Patterns sewing patterns are available in both printed and PDF format? Most printed patterns are currently in stock online!
If you havenāt seen the new envelope designs, here they are! I decided to move away from illustrations and go for photos. If you remember a while ago I was also trying to decide whether to stick with paper envelopes or go for plastic, Iāve decided to stick with the recyclable option but go for card instead of paper, so itās a bit more durable šš»
⨠If youāre a retailer interested in stocking our printed sewing patterns, weād love to hear from you. Just send us a message or email [email protected] āØ
How to hack the Sienna trousers into shorts! Now that weāre entering warm weather territory, the Sienna trousers are my go too pattern! But hacking them into shorts is such an easy way to make the most out of your pattern.
Now you can just cut the legs off, but if you donāt want that ātubularā shape to your shorts, this hack creates a lovely shape! Iāve filmed a full YouTube video about this too so if youāre not confident enough to give this a try, the video will walk you through all the steps! Video coming soon āØš
Summers coming and Iām so excited to be able to wear the Diana dress without a top underneath! This + flip flops is such a vibe šš»āØ
I do want to make another Diana but Iām not sure what fabric to make it in. I suit darker colours, but I want it to be summery still. Iām thinking dark olive green? Drop your suggestions below! My Summer fabric stash is LOW!
DIY magnetic pin dish š š
Can I really call it DIY if itās just sticking a magnet on the bottom?ā¦probably not. But if youāre like me and constantly drop your pins, or just leave them on the side to vibrate off the table and onto the floor, this oneās for you.
Would love to spend all day sewing, but I probably sew less than some of you do and in fact spend most of my time on the computer! Something Iād definitely like to change in the future, anyone want to do my admin for me? š
Itās been a year since the April blouse was released, but the thought process behind the fit is something I wanted to share again, as so many of you found it helpful last time to understand what a difference a dart can make to the overall fit of a garment. Especially something with a loose oversized fit like this blouse!

Deconstructing this dress from a photo (requested on TT) to determine the first steps in how Iād create a pattern for this. Again, not a pattern Iām working on, just a requested design study and a peek into how I break things down before drafting.
Also side note - I donāt think my mic is working so apologies for the slightly muffled audio š

A few photos from this week š
New fabrics have been added to the website, workshops being prepped and new patterns in the works! Thereās a few other things Iām working on too that I canāt show you yet š
I plan on filming the Lucia dress sewalong next week too šø so hopefully that will be ready in the next few weeks āØ
No one commented on the fact I didnāt hem the dress on the mannequin though ⦠āļø
On another note, the Lucia dress pattern is now available! šš»
⨠The Lucia dress is here! āØ
Featuring:
⢠2 back options (a low back or higher back that covers the bra)
⢠double princess seams at the front and back
⢠midi-length
⢠yoke/facing panel across the front and back neckline
I love the simplicity of this dress and how it can be made in so many different ways. While I made it in denim, it works in plenty of other fabrics. You could use a mid weight linen for a summer look, colour block cottons for a different vibe entirely, or even mix and match prints of different scales and styles! I canāt wait to see what you all make!
Use code: LUCIARELEASE for 10% off the PDF pattern for the launch weekend. Ends 11:59pm GMT 31st March 2026.
Also a huge thank you to @codiephotos@luna_daniels@livingondisco for modelling and photographing this!
