We love specific examples here at #NH Has Issues! We don’t love how state lawmakers have pushed significant costs on to local communities and then…blamed those communities for property taxes. Awkward. And inaccurate. If only *someone* could do something…? New episode of New Hampshire Has Issues coming soon… #podcast #nhtok #taxes #fyp

GOOD NEWS! Live show pics from 3/27 are out :) In the 20 months I’ve been doing Granite Goodness, I’ve come across two popular and cynical narratives about podcasts 1) That they are a shallow vanity exercise 2) That locally oriented podcasts should see each other as competition These narratives bothered me so much that on Friday night we brought together 6 amazing local pods, 8 great panelists, live music @sneakymiles , and an audience of 112 people at @3sartspace to tell a different story These 8 people arent just blabbing into a mic, they’re using podcasting as a medium to make a difference. Each one of them shared stories of how because their show exists, a substantive and positive change happened in their community or the lives of others. With great gusto and shenanigans, we opened the night by declaring that our competition is not each other, but rather the giant media rage machine devoted to making people more cynical and less trusting of their neighbors. Our competition is the conflict entrepreneurs THANK YOU @hithisismarissa & @im.emily.bean @nhhasissues @dr_beewell @creativegutspodcast @alisonkinsey @tellnortheast ...for showing us that maybe, just maybe, the world does in fact need another podcast 😉 Was also so fun to share the stage with Haley Levesque while she announced her new project @communitymedianh Big shout out to Jesse Lore, M.B.A. and @greenwaveev for supporting the event (and rapping for us on stage). Thank you @hutchheelanfoto for the pictures and @infocusmedianh for the videography!

COMING UP! GRANITE GOODNESS, the award-winning podcast highlighting optimism and progress across New England, comes to @3sartspace on March 27 for an evening celebrating New Hampshire’s vibrant and fast-growing podcast scene. Join host Andy DeMeo as he brings together local podcast voices shaping regional dialogue around policy, art, business, creativity, community, and more. This two-part conversation explores how independent media creators surface ideas, inspire action, and solve real problems across New Hampshire and beyond. Each segment will run approximately 40 minutes, with a 10-minute intermission. The night kicks off with a performance by local indie-folk favorite @sneakymiles . Unfortunately Troy (@SeacoastStories ) and Gene (NH Uncharted @nhfpi ) could not make the rescheduled date, so we will instead be joined by the wonderful Alison Kinsey and Steve Ivo Segment 1 Guests -Marissa Emanuele + Emily Briand, Co-hosts @onequickthingpod -Liz Canada, Host, @nhhasissues -Steve Ivo, Host @dr_beewell Segment 2 Guests -Laura Harper Lake + Becky Barsi, Co-hosts, @creativegutspodcast -Alison Kinsey, Host, Real Time Creator @alisonkinsey -Jenn Bakos, Host, @tellnortheast Afterparty @wilderportsmouth Link in @granitegoodness bio! 🗿👍🏼

You - yes you! - are the legislator! A lot of #NH towns have their local #election on Tuesday, March 10…and while many folks may never run for office (though, ahem, you *should*), we do get this kind of power in our local elections. In this full episode of NH Has Issues, Hopkinton Town Moderator Sara P talks all about town elections, town meeting, and how this is the most direct form of democracy many of us will participate in. And yeah…that’s pretty dang cool. Available wherever you listen to #podcasts #fyp #vote
