Our Banking & Finance students Ocean Cheng and Dary Ong were recently featured in @straits_times for their approach to managing investments amid today’s market volatility.​
Ocean started building his investment foundation at 14 years old through books and independent research, while Dary began investing after gaining exposure to financial markets through his course and student investment activities.​
Through NP’s Banking & Finance curriculum, both built a strong foundation in investing – from understanding financial markets and diversification to focusing on research, fundamentals and long-term growth over market sentiment.​

For most of her life, Charmaine Maryesther Wee Si Ling struggled with formal education – until she found a learning environment that worked for her at NP.
With nearly two decades of experience under her belt in areas across marketing, communications and the non-profit sector, she returned to the classroom to strengthen her foundation.
What she found was a hands-on curriculum she could immediately apply. Midway through her diploma, she stepped into a General Manager role at a mental health arts charity, confidently applying what she learnt directly in her day-to-day work.
A self-described “maximiser”, Charmaine also brought others along, supporting classmates, encouraging family members to keep learning, and even guiding strangers towards new opportunities.
Now, the inaugural SkillsFuture Lifelong Learning Award recipient is pursuing a part-time Bachelor of Science in Business at SUSS while growing a mental health startup.
