It felt surreal to see a medieval hilltop town emerge around the last bend in the winding French countryside. Here, I tried escargot for the first time (huge fan), wandered along the outer walls (absolutely terrifying), and met yet another adorable stray cat. Even with a light rain falling later in the day, exploring the fortress felt like stepping into a Ghibli movie.

An enormous city that I wish I had more time in (I've learned the hard way that you can't rush a good paella). With just a day in the city, I only scratched the surface of Barcelona, literally and figuratively.

Took a 30 minute trip out of Palma to the small but beautiful hilltop village of Valldemossa. The cobblestone streets were lined with bright citrus trees, friendly stray cats, and traditional Mallorcan architecture.
