Final shots of our visit to the spectacular @onf_nfb The NFB logo is my very favorite logo of all time - it’s so simple, and yet, so profound. I read this history of the logo:“Known as ‘Man Seeing’ or ‘Visionary Man,’ the logo was designed by NFB publicist Georges BeauprĂ© in 1968 and symbolized humanity’s vision.”And this:“Somewhat remarkably for a time when little thought was given to Indigenous cultural contributions, the logo also evokes Indigenous art. The design, McPherson said, affirmed Canada’s progressive approach to art and communications technology.”“The figure represents mankind. The raised arms with clasped hands suggest celebration. The head is like the iris of an eye. The NFB’s new logo is MAN SEEING. This is visionary man, animated man.”  Thank you again to @onf_nfb and @nfb_animation for hosting our visit to your beautiful, inspirational organization.

It was beyond thrilling to (finally) visit the National Film Board of Canada! I was first introduced to their beautiful films when I saw the International TournĂ©e of Animation when I was eight years old, but I didn’t know anything about the NFB until I attended CalArts. What an incredible institution! They have made hundreds (or more?) films for the sake of art and culture, with no expectations of profit or prizes, though their films have garnered many awards throughout the years. A trillion thanks to @nadineviau @judithlessard and everyone else at the @onf_nfb and @nfb_animation for being such amazing hosts. It’s an experience I’ll never forget and will always treasure. #nfb #nationalfilmboardofcanada
