THE FUTURE IS ASIAN — a showcase bringing Asian communities together.
Our mission is to bridge the social gap between new immigrants and Canadian-born Asians through a night of music, food, and personal connection. Of course, Asia is not (and should not) be defined strictly within the East Asian diaspora. This event welcomes all people from all backgrounds to dissolve socially constructed barriers between likeminded creatives and listeners.

Tatsuro Yamashita debuted in the 1970s as a member of the band Sugar Babe before launching a solo career. He found major success in the late 1970s and 1980s, releasing a string of influential albums that defined the city pop era. He became known as a perfectionist in the studio, often writing, arranging, and producing his own work. Known for silky vocals and meticulous production, he blends pop, soul, and funk into timeless, nostalgic hits that shaped Japanese music for decades.
