New Trier Varsity Girls Rowing had a historic weekend at the Head of the Charles regatta in Boston. They finished in 6th place out of 86 crews in the Womens Youth Eights which is one of our program’s best finishes and the fastest time for a public high school in the United States! Way to go Trevs!
Sandy Culver (New Trier Women)
Under Head Coach Sandy Culver, New Trier’s Women claimed the Rose Marchuk Girl’s Points Trophy, with 8 of their 9 boats competing in the A-Finals at MSRA this year. The team then went on with 5 boats racing and medaling at SRAA. Beyond results on the water, Sandy strives to mentor the young female coaches working under her, while also supporting diversity and access to rowing through North Channel Community Rowing, introducing middle school athletes from under-represented communities in Evanston, IL.
An amazing finish at SRAAs. We sent ten crews to this Scholastic Nationals regatta and seven of them earned medals! Very close races over 1500m.

Thank you @sihsrowing for coming to the DRC to race at the end of both our spring breaks. St Igs swept almost all the races and we learned a lot. The V8 split wins between piece 1 and piece 2. Big shout out to the NTRC parents for feeding the whole group and to the St Ignatius families that made the trip to see the races. St Ignatius takes home to Cleveland the Frosh 8 and V8 trophy as well as the points plate.
