Proceeds go towards our general farm budget to help give students a hands-on education in agriculture while supporting our farm-to-school free lunch program!

New Roots senior, Beau, works on a small bookcase that features some “simple” joinery techniques. During the project, they discovered that one side of the bookcase would have to be redone due to the organic nature of wood. The upside to taking the time to redo something is that you get to use the skills you just learned again!
💚 Huge shoutout to Monica Burke 💚 who created and taught our Preservation and Trades class for the last year at a half, as a volunteer! Her students have learned real math, problem-solving, project-management and hands-on tool skills that they can take with them for life 💚 🛠 💚
Today our middle school took a field trip to the @ithacabooksale ! Thanks to their generosity, each student was given 2 coupons to get a book to take home and one to donate to our school library on their behalf.
Our shelves have gained over 50 books ranging from dictionaries, to graphic novels, biographies, 3 complete book series (students banned together to get the full sets), brain teaser books, "how to" books on a variety of unique topics, and many fiction novels ✨📚✨
We are so grateful to the team of volunteers at the Friends of Library for welcoming our energetic group with great patience and enthusiasm. We look forward to partnering with them again soon to support our young readers!
