Congratulations to students from New Design High School for opening Awesome Work! today. The exhibition will be on view at All Street Gallery (119 Hester Street) through this weekend, from 1-7pm on Saturday and Sunday.

New Design High School seeks to break barriers in both public and design education, shaping a new paradigm of learning centered on students’ lived experiences, relationships, and community. Across our students’ four years at New Design, they will take classes across creative disciplines - studio art, graphic design, 3D design, tashion and textiles. We empower students to develop new artistic and design skills, take risks, develop their artistic voice, and prepare for a well-designed life after graduation.
Awesome Work! represents the culmination of students’ year-long exploration in a variety of traditional, 2D, 3D, wearable, and experimental media, exploring concepts such as the selt, art history, light and space, sustainability, and social justice. A student-run production, the work has been created and space curated by current students.
New Design High School and All Street Gallery present Awesome Work!, the annual exhibition of work made by students at a small, design-focused, public high school on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, from May 15-17th at All Street’s Hester Street location, located at 119 Hester Street in the Lower East Side.
Join us tomorrow, May 15, for an opening reception from 3:30 - 6 pm.
