Build season is rolling 🔧🤖
Newbotics 8349 has already been hard at work brainstorming, analyzing strategy, and prototyping multiple design ideas. After testing concepts and learning what works best for the game, we’re now moving forward — construction is beginning soon, starting with the turret.
Our CAD team has been busy turning ideas into detailed models, making sure every measurement and mechanism fits before parts are made. From whiteboard sketches to real hardware, the robot is starting to take shape!

Here’s the recap of #8349 Newbotics participating in the FRC ONT District Newmarket Event earlier this month!
We’re currently making improvements on the robot as well as other aspects to prepare for the upcoming McMaster event.
First team meet of the year! While we did get off to a late start, we were fortunately able to meet with the team virtually and together we made plans for the year. It may be very different from last year, but we are still looking forward to a fun and eventful season!

Our team directly supports the education of African Canadians in STEM. Providing equal opportunities for STEM education to all races, especially those that might not have an opportunity otherwise, is something we think is important for removing socioeconomic barriers that allow racism to fester. Next year, we pledge to increase our education of underprivileged groups so we can do our part in making a difference in our society and community.
Yet another productive evening, We got the base of the chassis complete and a lot of the electronics wired up. A great start to the build season!

Our first kickoff!
Thank you to @frc4343 for having us. We had a great time brainstorming ideas for the build of our robot, inventorying our Kit Of Parts and the human demo of the game!
Today’s Meeting went great! The Design team got time to work with Solidworks, The Programming team got time to work with LabView and the robot, and Circuitry practiced soldering.
All three groups play key parts in the team. Happy to see everyone having fun and learning new things!
