Newark’s Festival of Creativity is almost here, and the countdown is ON! 🎭🍂
This is a FREE family event that will bring the corners of Newark to life with incredible workshops, exciting arts and crafts, and out-of-this-world performances.

Get creative for Newark Festival this Bank Holiday weekend! Join one of our free workshops from 18th – 21st August (morning or afternoon sessions) and make your own props to wear in the Newark Creates Parade on Monday 25 August at 4.15pm.
From masks, and costumes, to lanterns and headdresses – each of our FREE workshops will give you something amazing to create to join in with the fantastic community event.

🎉 Join a workshop and be part of our Newark Creates Parade! 🎉
Our colourful parade will take place on 25th August as part of Newark Festival. Choose from one of our workshops below where you’ll get the chance to create an amazing costume or prop that you can then wear alongside other members of the community during the parade!

🦊 18th August, 10am or 3.30pm: Fox Heads and Tails
Make a beautiful fox mask and tail to wear on parade day, using cardboard, tissue papers and glues.
🐝 20th August, 10am or 1pm: Buzzy Bees
Make your own willow lantern bee to bring along to our parade. You’ll be guided on how to make a willow frame for your bee and how to use wet strength tissue paper to cover and decorate your bee.
🌺 19th August, 10am or 1pm: Giant Flowers
Make your own giant paper flower using different paper construction techniques. You’ll be able to customise your design with other materials to make your flower truly unique!
🦌 21st August, 10am or 1pm: Woodland Deer headdresses and staffs
Make your own deer headdress and whimsical woodland staff. You’ll be using lots of different papers, fabrics, ribbons and other crafting goodies to add hand-made foliage to your own staff to walk with in the parade. You’ll also be able to create your own deer headpiece to complete the look!

Everywhere’s a Beach is coming to Newark Market Place, with a giant spinning parasol, aerial circus stunts, and a brilliantly talented crew bringing beachy mayhem to life!
As a non-verbal performance, it is proud to be inclusive for deaf audiences, those who don’t use English as a first language, and audiences with additional needs.

If you’re 11–18 and looking for somewhere to hang out after school, this is it! We’re taking over Newark Market Place with FREE stuff to do, good vibes, and a space that’s actually made for you.
Come chill, get creative, jump into a workshop, or just see what’s going on. No need to book – just turn up.
If you want to join in with activities, you’ll need to fill out a quick form. You can do it now at getinthezone.uk, or we can send it to your parent or carer when you arrive.

This FREE pop-up space for 11–18s is all about creativity, connection and having the freedom to just be yourself. Whether you’re into art, gaming, music, or just want somewhere to chill, The Zone is designed for you.
