Meet Priyanshi B (14-16) Jersey 🏆HONOURABLE MENTION Poetry 'In Someone Else's Boots' 🥾 'Someone Else’s Boots is about stepping into perspectives we often overlook. I was inspired by how conflict is usually shown in terms of sides, borders, and power- but rarely through the quiet, human moments behind it. This poem focuses on those moments: a mother, a soldier, a child, a medic. It made me think about how different lives are connected by the same fear, hope, and loss. Writing it reminded me that empathy matters- that listening matters.🕊️' Priyanshi's poem inspires us to choose to listen. Whose story will you listen to today? #NeverSuchInnocence #PoetryForPeace #Empathy #MeetTheWinners #insomeoneelsesshoes #nsicompetition #PoetryForPeace #poetry #poetrycommunity #youthpoetry #youngpoets #globalyouthvoices #CreativeWriting

Meet Lauren W (14-16) England 🇬🇧 🥇1ST PLACE Song 'Lines' 〰️ 'Sometimes we can feel helpless as conflict seems unsolvable and far away, but songwriting can be a way of creating empathy and drawing attention to difficult situations rather than ignoring them just because they don't directly affect us.' If Lauren's song inspired you, let her know in the comments. Which lyric stood out to you? 💬 #neversuchinnocence #nsicompetition #meetthewinners #originalsong #youngmusician #youngsongwriter #insomeoneelsesshoes #YouthCreativity #globalyouthvoices

Escuchaste los rumores? Meet Valerie, Annie, Marianna (14-16) Colombia 🇨🇴 🥉 3rd PLACE Song 'Mirando más allá' 'We are more than a group — we are a voice. 🤍We work together to create empathy, to stand for justice, and to make people feel seen. In a country where not everyone feels understood, we choose to listen, to learn, and to walk in someone else’s shoes. Through our work, we show real stories, real feelings, and real perspectives. Because when we understand each other, we can build something better. If you’ve ever felt unheard, this is for you. If you’ve ever wanted change, be part of it.' We highly recommend watching the group's music video in the Never Such Innocence Winners Booklet. Meet Yatharth C (9-11) India 🇮🇳 🥉3RD PLACE Poetry 'The Friend I could be' 👭 'Hi! I am Yatharth from India, and I am super happy to share that my poem, ""The Friend I Could Be,"" won third place in the international Never Such Innocence competition!. 🤝🕊️I am deeply grateful to Lady Lucy French , the Panel of Judges & the team at Never Such Innocence for giving a voice to me and thousands of children everywhere, and for being a stage the world needs right now. I wrote this poem because I believe that children should not feel different from each other. 🌍 We should only be known for our imagination and ambition! ✍️ Peace shouldn't be a privilege; it should be a promise kept for every child.' Congratulations Yatharth! #NeverSuchInnocence #MeetTheWinners #TheFriendICouldBe #YouthVoice #Peace #YatharthsInkwell #Poetry #InternationalPeace

Meet Angela H.S. (9-11) from China, who won 2nd place for her artwork 'Memories in the Fire'🥈🔥 Hi everyone! I’m Angela, and I’m from China 🎨 I was super happy (and a little surprised!) when I found out I won—thank you so much for liking my artwork! When I was drawing, I tried to imagine what kids my age might be going through in a war and how they might feel. I hope when you see my work, you can also have your own thoughts and feelings. I will keep drawing more interesting pictures and sharing the world in my imagination with you. Thank you for your support ❤️ #neversuchinnocence #meetthewinners #nsicompetition #youngartists

For VE Day today, we have the special opportunity for one lucky follower to receive a copy of this brilliant book, 'Their Second World War', which shares the stories of veterans themselves or uses letters and diaries belonging to family members who did not want their loved ones' stories to be forgotten. A great read for those young historians out there! To enter, send us a DM with the word 'story'. Open to UK residents!
