S4DO has always been music. Since she was a kid, singing, dancing, living in rhythm. When she migrated to Portugal, singing went on pause and, without meaning to, she fell into the dancefloor.
Before becoming a DJ, there was the desire to create space, community, and nightlife experiences as a form of escape. S4DO was born within this movement. Everything clicked when she felt the dancefloor and played for the first time. And that first time was chaos. A broken USB, tracks that wouldn’t load.
She played by ear, by instinct, by the energy of the crowd.
Museu da Vila packed, and the realization hit: “this space is mine too.”
In S4DO’s sets, it’s not just the mixer doing the work. She dances, shouts, throws herself in. The body becomes an extension of the music, pulling the dancefloor up with it.
In Lisbon, the underground scene became survival. Between work, rent, and paperwork, the night and Baile da XRK turned into breathing space, belonging, and movement. Before thinking about money, there’s community, affection, truth, and the desire to be together. The rest comes later.
Between Lisbon and Rio, S4DO observes, reads the global movement of funk, and chooses how she wants to position herself. A woman, an immigrant, speaking openly about sex and pleasure in a scene still dominated by men. That alone is political. Her sets empower those who need to see themselves there and unsettle those who still treat it all as taboo
