Itās a surreal feeling to have witnessed and captured such a raw and powerful moment in the wild. Experiences like this are why I spend so much time out there, and Iām grateful that these images resonate beyond that single split second

Last year I took ~20,000 photos. What really stays with me though were the people who led me to places and species Iād have never found alone
On my travels thereās often a goal, like photographing a rare bird. But thatās really just an excuse to be on the winding road, to connect with folks and the environment along the way. Which is kind of what life comes down to anyway
Iāve also been trusted to do a maternity shoot, contribute all the photos for a vinyl release, and got selected for a national park gallery, and Iām so grateful for all of these opportunities. Iād love to collaborate more on photo projects this year and canāt wait to see whatās ahead. Thanks for being part of this journey

After spending three days under a tree in Taipeiās Daan Park, I finally caught the exact split-second when a Formosa Barbet (Psilopogon nuchalis) shot into its nest to feed its hatchlings
With its emerald feathers, bright blue crown, and that little splash of red on its throat, it looks like out of a fantasy. Seeing the final image with the berries in its beak and the sunlight glow through its wings made every hour of waiting worth it

Deep in the Pantanal in Brazil, I witnessed something Iāll never forget. Power, instinct, and survival all colliding in a single moment
Jaguars are the only big cats that regularly hunt in water. Theyāre ambush predators, relying on stealth, strength, and perfect timing rather than long chases. From above, this one had the advantage of surprise, dinner within reach
In a burst of motion, this Jaguar leapt from the crown of a tree straight into the water, on top of a caiman drifting below. The two predators vanished beneath the surface and for a few tense seconds the river boiled, a blur of claws, scales, and bubbles. The caiman managed to escape, but the scene left me in awe. It was a raw, fleeting glimpse of untamed nature and Iām so grateful I got to experience and photograph this moment
