Thankful for great friends coming out and thanks @joell_krista for always putting on such warm welcoming and joyful events! And I was so honoured to be drawn performing with Sean. Valo is 10 years young today! Happy birthday to my best friend in the whole wide world. Sheâs brought so much love and joy into our life. Valo means light in Finnish and she is indeed the brightest light. First picture was taken last night and personally I think she still looks like a puppy. We love you Valo!
So reason number 1002 why I love @thevoyeurbordello - they are a gallery run by artists for artists and they do so many different events and group projects to bring artists and community together! This is a painting I did for their white elephant event- where 12 artists brought in unfinished or set aside paintings we werenât attached to- then we all got someone elseâs painting to essentially be inspired by to âfinishâ or in half the cases and in my case to keep a part of the original theme but to then do our own style and image from that. The original painting was an animated or cartoon style birds on a wire, I kept the birds and put them on my arms instead :) 16 by 20 inch acrylic on loose canvas behind glass for now -but the funny thing is - even though I put it in the show- once I get it back Iâm going to keep working on a bit and really bring it even more to life! Turns out I love working within perimeters - having a theme already set for me and somewhat of a composisiton took out that part of the decision making so that I could focus on creating the image faster. This @thevoyeurbordello project helped me to further learn that about myself! In you are in metro Detroit, I very highly recommend following them for amazing art shows and events!

You captured the sparkly ethereal siren song way I felt the day after my wedding so perfectly I couldnât have even dreamt of it. I love you Miles! Thank you from the sea to the stars for being a part of our day, for standing up with me, for being in my life, for being so entirely yourself, for your kindness, for always making me feel so special, seen, and beautiful under your gaze. I will cherish you, making art with you, and everything you are, always. (Also thankful for my brother for taking us out to the sandbar on the pontoon and making sure I didnât sink to the bottom of the lake in my wedding dress! Youâre the best @adamlaakko )
