Who or what is Neupitz? 1️⃣ OUR CONCEPT Neupitz is a workation & team retreat by a lake, surrounded by beautiful nature, close to Berlin. Workation does not mean working on vacation — but working in a place that feels like a vacation. We believe such a place creates room for creativity and innovation.  That’s what Neupitz is all about! .......... 2️⃣ WHO IS IT FOR? We have the ideal setting for living the perfect mix of work and leisure – we call it Work.Lake.Balance 😉 So, if you can work remotely, seek variety from working from home, inspiration and interaction, you’re in the right place with us. We are the perfect place for you! .......... 3️⃣ CURRENT STATUS Since our launch in early summer 2023, we’ve received a lot of positive feedback. Of course, we are delighted to hear that. However, we also want to point out that we’re still a young company in the development phase. So far, we have renovated our spacious Art Nouveau villa and our 5 GDR bungalows, converted our boathouse into a multifunctional lounge and placed a small panoramic sauna on our shore. Please, don’t expect luxury or perfection from us (for now) - but plenty of coziness, a dreamy natural property with direct lake access and us - a team of warm-hearted people, who do everything to make you feel comfortable with us. .......... 4️⃣ VISION Over the next few years, we will replace our bungalows with modern and sustainable buildings. Additionally, we plan to carefully integrate further buildings into the little forest on our property. Also planned: a large new pier, a café, a permaculture garden, regular events, and much more. .......... 5️⃣ TEAM Our core team currently consists of Stephan (Founder), Jill (Cooperations & Partnerships), Pit (Project Management) and Lisa (Marketing & Design) – four generalists who are eager to bring people together at this beautiful place.  We will introduce ourselves in more detail soon! :) .......... Neupitz is so close to Berlin — yet far enough away 😉  Teupitz, the home of Neupitz, is just 54 kilometers from Berlin’s city center, has a nearby train station and enjoys excellent connectivity. Theoretically, you can even reach us by boat from Berlin.  Our spacious grounds with an orchard and a small forest offer direct access to Lake Teupitz.  Dive into the cool water, paddle with a canoe, enjoy a glass of wine on the pier, or just contemplate the serene blue. The lake offers many opportunities for refreshing breaks from work and close encounters with nature. Atop a hill sits our 1902 Art Nouveau villa, spanning three floors with ample space for various communal areas and sanctuary spots for workations and team retreats. Nearby, five renovated GDR-era bungalows feature cozy minimalism and private terraces. Framed by forests, Lake Teupitz was formed during the last Ice Age. Its idyllic setting has inspired people for centuries, including the famous German novelist and poet Theodor Fontane, who once wrote: „I long to see Lake Teupitz again. Is it just its beauty, or am I drawn to the enchantment of silence?“ Thanks to our own little forest and large meadow area, the air in Neupitz is perfect for taking a deep breath. With two hectares of land, the property offers numerous opportunities for exploration. Those who also want to explore the surroundings of Neupitz can stroll to nearby forests and lakes. The Dahme-Spreewald region, where Teupitz is located, is one of the most water-rich areas in Germany with over 70 lakes.  With direct access to the Dahme and Berlin-Dresden bike path as well as the 66-Lakes Trail, the town of Teupitz invites visitors to be active. But also to linger and enjoy: with two ice cream parlors and a place to buy smoked fish. The most beautiful spot on our property? That’s different for everyone. A full April: We had our own little team offsite, did plenty of fixing around the place, watched spring slowly rise, and finally, the season started. Here‘s what stuck with us. ✨

If you've already been thinking about a team offsite for a while, May is a good moment for that. Warm enough to sit outside, calm enough to actually focus, and early enough that your whole team is still around before summer holidays hit. Last week, we experienced firsthand why time together as a team matters so much. And why Neupitz is the perfect place for it. The laptops close, someone starts a conversation that wouldn't happen on Slack, and the team starts to bond. We spent the last 1.5 days doing what Neupitz is made for: stepping out of the daily routine, making decisions, and simply spending time together. Our mini team offsite at Neupitz was all about welcoming Marie and Petra to the team and saying a heartfelt goodbye to Eileen. On the agenda: Tapping birch water straight from the tree, walking past the cows next door, listening to our kitchen partner Pierre share his vision for what’s cooking this season, sitting around the fire under a full moon with our lovely volunteers, enjoying the crisp morning air at the lake before the sun heated up the day. ☀️ And yes, we almost forgot the team photo. The season hasn’t started yet, the walls are still rough, and that’s why we need you! Some of our volunteers are finishing their stay this week, so we have space for new people to join our crew. A few impressions from the last weekend at Neupitz, which we spend in great company and perfect spring weather, doing renovation work, cutting trees, and enjoying time together at the lake. 🌱

The last quiet winter days at the lake before the hustle begins. ❄️ Right now, Neupitz is quite peaceful, the lake is still frozen, and Stephan and Yolo can spend hours playing Frisbee in the snow. But that’ll change next week when we start renovating the bungalows and getting the place ready for the upcoming season. We can’t wait to show you more! Neupitz needs renovating, which is where you come in! 🛠️ We’re looking for volunteers starting mid-February who are skilled in construction work and experienced with tools to bring our visions to life. Don’t get lost in the woods anymore: 3 Neupitz running routes with easy to follow signs along the way! 🏁 Lena and Cassia spent the last 2 weeks mapping out our favourite running trails. There is something for everyone - a small 3,5 km route through the woods, a 6 km route through forest and lake, and our all-time favourite 10 km loop around two gorgeous lakes. 🌲🪷🌾
