Netball Aid has officially raised an incredible £40,000 for BBC Children in Need. 💛🏐
Held on 2nd November 2025 at Birmingham’s Utilita Arena, the event brought together more than 5,000 fans for a night of pure energy, entertainment and unforgettable netball moments — all for an amazing cause.
This achievement is a testament to the hard work, organisation and dedication of a phenomenal team led by BBC’s Trish Adudu and Birmingham Panthers co-founder Alison Akinrinlola, whose vision and relentless work behind the scenes brought this project to life.
Huge recognition must also go to Sandra Drakeford, Debs Street and Latoya Mhango for their tireless effort in planning, logistics, production and keeping every moving part running smoothly. Netball Aid simply wouldn’t have existed without the hours, passion and commitment this team poured into it.
The night featured:
• A showcase match by the England Men’s & Mixed Netball Association, giving fans the chance to watch elite men’s netball live on a major stage.
• A thrilling Guinness World Record attempt for the most netball goals scored in one hour — narrowly missed, but an absolutely nail-biting battle from start to finish.
• A high-energy celebrity showdown between the Pudseys and the Bears, with music from DJ Mystikle and BBC Radio 1Xtra’s Kaylee Golding, plus world-class entertainment from dancers, cheerleaders and trickstars.
