“I want to rethink the things I take for granted in my life. For a while, I’ve built long automatic habits. Getting dressed in dark clothes in the AMs was one of them.
This is meaningful as a break to one of my longest-standing habits in my life, which hopefully allows me to reconsider a lot of arbitrary habits I have developed as a young adult.”
Michael:
“What makes something meaningful?
For the longest time, I’ve actively and relentlessly tortured myself seeking definitive answers to this question, as if nothing can outweigh its existence, for it essentially drives the real, underlying question -
What makes ME (something) meaningful?
The self-centered naivety and audacity were proven laughable, in hindsight; for to objectify oneself is key to dissolving oneself, ultimately leading to self-realization through the total reconstruction of reality, not from answers but from the act of inquiry itself.”
We’re plagued by productivity, every second demands purpose, every action demands value.
Habits—formed without thought—become the weights we carry, that conditions our relationship to time, objects, and even identity itself.
