Photo 1: Captured by me June 30, 2013. Kendrick Lamar was having an insane 1st album run. It was the night of the BET Awards, the first year BET rolled out their 3 day BET Experience. GKMC was released 8 months prior. The album would go on to spend the most weeks on Billboard 200 by any hip hop studio album in history. The 4th single Poetic Justice was released at the top of the same year with a music video that followed in February of 2013. 4 months later after this photo the now infamous BET cypher would take place in October… Photo 2: GKMC Photo 3: Poetic Justice Photo 4: Captured by me August 29th, 2011 At the Lil Wayne album release of “The Carter lV”. Drake’s debut album “Thank Me Later” was released about a year and 2 months before and in 3 months arguably one of his best albums to date “Take Care” would be released. Despite the album leaking online 9 days before, it went on to be a certified classic. The song “Buried Alive” features Kendrick and he also opened up for Drake during “The Club Paradise Tour” in Feb 2012. Photo 5: Take Care promo Melrose Blvd Photo 6: Take Care Photo 7: Stills from Carter lV album release. Question: Has “Not Like Us” eclipsed “Back to Back”in the Hip Hop records for greatest diss in your opinion why or why not?
