🇪🇺 Over the past few months I've been experimenting a lot with cameras (it's related to the #Sunchronizer, but I'm not revealing exactly what yet). To connect the camera properly with my RaspberryPi5, I also designed a small housing. It allows mounting the Raspberry Pi GS or HD Camera at an angle.

🇪🇺 As someone who has accidentally left the soldering iron on at my desk more than once in the past, I have been fully switching my desk setup on and off for a few years now. So far, I used Zigbee buttons. Unfortunately, they are battery-powered, and it feels like I am replacing batteries all the time.
To solve this once and for all, I designed a small Safety Switch Board.
It has six switches that let me turn my desk, lights, and a few other desk devices on and off. Internally, I use a @seeedstudio XIAO ESP32-S3 to read the switch states and forward them to my #HomeAssistant.

🇪🇺 To control the azimuth/rotation axis of the #Sunchronizer, I use a 3D-printed worm gear. The worm is then driven by another spur gear and a 12V motor to rotate the Sunchronizer assembly on the 3D-printed slewing ring.
It already works very well. At the same time, I see the most potential for improvement here. How would you do it? 🙂
🇩🇪 Um die Azimuth/Rotationsachse vom #Sunchronizer zu steuern nutze ich ein 3D gedrucktes Schneckengetriebe. Die Schnecke wird dann über ein weiteres Stirnradgetriebe und einen 12V Motor angetrieben um den Aufbau des Sunchronizers auf dem 3D gedruckten Drehkranz zu drehen.
Es funktioniert so schon sehr gut. Gleichzeitig sehe ich hier auch noch am meisten Verbesserungspotential. Wie würdet ihr es machen? 🙂

🇪🇺 For a project, I needed a simple camera housing for the @raapberrypi camera and the Raspberry Pi. So, I quickly fired up the CAD tool, and voila, a new housing design was born. Thanks to the tripod thread, the camera constructed this way can also be mounted on a simple photo tripod. You can find the housing in my shops. Link in bio.

🇩🇪 Für ein Projekt brauchte ich ein einfaches Kameragehäuse für die Raspberry Pi Kamera und den RaspberryPi. Also "schnell" das CAD Tool angeworfen und voila ein ein neues Gehäusedesign ist geboren. Dank Stativgewinde kann die so aufgebaute Kamera auch auf einem einfachen Fotostativ verbaut werden. Das Gehäuse findet ihr in meinen Shops. Link in Bio.

🇪🇺 Of course, I also continued working on the #Sunchronizer (a dual-axis tracker for a solar panel). The latest iteration has been out in the wild for a few weeks now. I've since made some design changes and scaled back some of my overengineering. I'll publish details about that in a YouTube video sometime soon. 🙂
🇩🇪 Natürlich habe ich auch am #Sunchronizer (ein Dual Axis Tracker für ein Solarpanel) weitergearbeitet. Die letzte Iteration jst seit ein paar Wochen draußen in der Wildnis. 🇩🇪 In most situations, the @raspberrypi integrated ports are sufficient. But sometimes you just need something more. 😎 For this, you can use the Waveshare USB 3.0 Expansion PCB, for example. This connects internally via the PCIe interface and expands the Raspberry Pi by four additional full-featured USB 3.0 ports.

This housing for the @raspberrypi integrates the Waveshare Connector Adapter PCB and the Raspberrypi 4B in one housing and makes it possible to allign all connectors (w/o GPIO) to one side. This makes it much easier to integrate/use the Pi in a "Panelised" scenario. 🙂 Any feature that you are missing here?

I finished the first prototype of my housing for the new @raspberrypi Touch Display 2. This comes with a resolution of 1280x720 pixel at 7" size. Perfect to display high resolution photos. 😍
But of course you need a proper housing. This fits tightly around the screen and integrates a RPi4 on the back. Also there is a place to mount an optional 40mm fan, a wall hanger and a standfoot is integrated. What are you using your rpi driven display for? 🙂

🇪🇺 It took a while, but I've finally finished three new segments for the #PrintAirPipe system. There are now two fan segments with which either a 120mm axial or 120mm radial fan can be integrated into the system. Thanks to the support of @pcbway , I have also designed a suitable PCB with which the built-in PWM fan can be controlled and read using a @seeedstudio XIAO ESP32 S3. The firmware is again based on #esphome and allows the target speed to be set but also the actual speed to be read.
Additionally I have now also published a filter segment to match this. This allows the pipe system to be expanded to include a HEPA filter and/or activated carbon filter. Based on this, I will soon also be offering sets for soldering extraction. 🙂 As always, I look forward to suggestions for other segments or sets that interest you. 🙂 More info at Nerdiy.de/papp
