On this Anzac Day, we reflect with gratitude and respect on those who served, sacrificed, and gave everything for the peace and freedoms we hold today.
Music has a unique way of carrying remembrance , honouring sorrow, hope, and humanity beyond words.
As we reflect, we share this audience recording of Lacrimosa from our recent Mozart Requiem concert, performed by Neotectonic Vocal Ensemble and friends with Wairua Sinfonietta…a moment of stillness, reflection, and remembrance.
Lest we forget.

✨ Thank You - From Wairua Sinfonietta ✨
What an unforgettable evening of Mozart.
Our recent concert was a true celebration of music, community, and resilience. Despite severe weather warnings and uncertainty leading up to the performance, the hall was filled with warmth, focus, and extraordinary music-making.
A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful soloists, choir, orchestral musicians, and the many helpers behind the scenes who made this concert possible. Your dedication, calmness, and professionalism created something truly special.
Thank you to our audience for braving the weather and sharing the evening with us. Your presence means everything, and your support continues to inspire what we do.
A small fun fact from behind the scenes…
During our dress rehearsal, the civil emergency alerts kept ringing across the venue. The phones buzzing one after another! We even joked about preparing an “alert choir” to join us for the concert.
Miraculously, on the concert night itself… not a single alert sounded. Just Mozart, music, and a beautiful shared moment.
We are incredibly grateful for the success of this concert and for the community that continues to gather around Wairua Sinfonietta.
Here are a few moments captured from the evening. Thank you for being part of our journey.
Stay tuned for more exciting posts from this concert AND details about our 7 June concert coming soon. We look forward to welcoming you again! 🎶✨

Mozart’s Requiem - a work of mystery, beauty, and profound human expression.
This April, Wairua Sinfonietta invites you to experience one of the most powerful choral-orchestral masterpieces ever written. Composed during the final weeks of Mozart’s life, the Requiem continues to captivate audiences with its emotional depth, dramatic intensity, and moments of luminous hope.
From the haunting opening of the Introitus, to the thunderous Dies Irae, and the transcendent Lacrimosa, Mozart’s Requiem takes us on a journey through reflection, grief, and ultimately, peace.
We are honoured to collaborate with our wonderful soloists and choir for this special performance:
