Colored hair looks different under natural versus artificial lighting because of light temperature and spectrum.
Ā· Natural sunlight is full-spectrum, meaning it contains all colors of light. It reveals the true, balanced tone of your hair color whether itās warm, cool, or neutral.
Ā· Artificial lighting (like warm yellow bulbs, cool white LEDs, or fluorescent tubes) emits only a limited range of light wavelengths. Warm lights enhance golden and red tones, making hair look warmer. Cool or blue lights can make ash tones appear more muted or even greenish.
So, the same colored hair can shift from rich and vibrant in daylight to darker, yellower, or flatter under indoor lights depending on the light type.
