Late Bloomer S3 is OUT! I love being in a writers room. I love being on set. I love that I had a chance to work on a Canadian TV show that is so culturally personal. I’m very grateful to have served as Co-Showrunner. Big shout out to our incredibly talented cast (including personal faves/cuties @jillianlwelsh and @manavvaroraa ), the entire badass production team who took such good care of everything on screen/overfed us all. And the VIPs, our brilliant fellow writers @mohebbigram@ameerasiddiqui@horsepowar . I have so many more BTS pics but can’t post any spoilers uh oh no worries you’ll see it on screen soon enough. We drove around paradise for a month. Camped under the stars, made sandy pancakes on the beach, jumped off perfectly good cliffs, spotted a million animals, had many pus-filled bug bites, rafted down the rapids, played a lot of gin rummy, met great people and greater trees… we surfed, made cacao, stayed at a secret cult resort, let our bodies glitter in magic bioluminescence, I got the 4x4 stuck in a river in the middle of nowhere and ran barefoot to find help with google translate by my side and thought the trip was over but then was reminded the beautiful people of Costa Rica always have your back. This was by far the most spectacular display of Northern Lights I’ve ever seen. Pretty lucky for my first time. Grateful to @jillianlwelsh for getting me off the sofa and into the car AFTER 11pm, truly the real miracle in all this. Good lord we’re so lucky to live on this earth.
An evening of sophisticated elegance with @theadamcawley watching @jesssalgueiro be a gd superstar during the live taping of @frasier . The Sideshow Bob part was pretty great too. Yes, quite nice.
Got dolled up and presented at today’s @thecdnacademy TV Craft awards show at @cbc . Buncha angels run this show and I hugged all my favourite people. I haven’t taken my makeup off yet so lmk if I can be somewhere else rn. #CSAawards2024
Tonight is @runtheburbs finale party at CBC and I’m GUTTED that I have Covid. I would’ve loved to be there to share in the joy for three seasons of this show, but I’m staying home and wishing all the cast, crew, and fans a fun night. This show was a big part of my life for three years, from scrappy story editor to happy/exhausted co-showrunner, and I wouldn’t have changed a thing.
