. . “This month’s episode of Georgia Malone’s Here Goes Nothing is a vital one: with recent winner of the Georgia Malone Artist Prize from @minderoofoundation , Sarah Nelson, in conversation with arts leader Kelli Mccluskey. Recorded while sitting on the floor at PICA — Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts, Sarah and Kelli get into a passionate discussion of health, arts, and the limitations of the human body. Sarah’s battle with long Covid and her brave road back to create art that is changing the world is an inspiration, and it was an honour for Jo Malone and I to be in the room. I hope you’ll get a chance to listen.” - Toby Malone Podcast link in Bio

Deepest gratitude (& a truck load of shock) to be the recipient of @minderoofoundation inaugural Georgia Malone Prize. Sincerest thanks to the Malone family and all at Minderoo for the significant timely support & recognition You were an incredible force dear Georgia and you are so greatly missed by many. You fiercely fought on so many fronts … including the care and focus for your legacy. What a gift to receive this award from your beautiful family in the very spot you stood 1 year ago. Oh how your life & legacy lives on you champion 💕🙏🏼 Have really been struggling to find words to express this one, so sharing those of Minderoo…. “We are honoured to share that the inaugural Georgia Malone Artist Prize has been awarded to performer, producer, director and community arts worker Sarah Nelson for her 2025 Minderoo Artist Fund project Into the Fog. Valued at $15,000, the prize honours Georgia Malone, a highly respected member of the arts community and Minderoo team who passed away in 2025 and is lovingly remembered for her perseverance and “get on with it” attitude – regardless of what she was facing. In this spirit, the prize is awarded to one artist in the previous year’s cohort of the Minderoo Artist Fund that has displayed resilience, tenacity and a courageous or innovative approach to sustaining a career in the arts. Sarah Nelson received an Artist Fund grant in 2025 for Into the Fog – an interdisciplinary theatre work exploring her experience with long-covid and prolonged isolation in the UK – and we congratulate her on receiving the Georgia Malone Artist Prize. Minderoo was immensely fortunate to have Georgia work closely on the Artist Fund program, and lead Minderoo’s WA Arts Strategy.”

INTO THE FOG Creative Development Showing. Sept 18 2024 @hismajestystheatreperth Years of deep dreaming, playing, producing, persisting, writing, storyboarding, experimenting, moving, making, trying & testing ideas coming to further fruition as we nudge another step closer towards a premier season. Today, March 15th 2023, is the first International Long Covid Awareness day. As I enter my 4th year living with Long Covid I’m so grateful to be here & for all I have. But it gets to me how so many people have moved on from the pandemic not knowing how debilitating and effecting this illness is. It’s invisible to most. They may see the smiles but they don’t see the constant pain, dysfunction and affects of relentless relapsing. I stand in solidarity with the millions of others suffering and hope to raise awareness of this life changing condition. #longcovidawarenessday #longcovidawareness . . @longcovidsos @longcovid @longcovidalliance
