Making The Most in This Concrete Beach
To Floridians where in the infrastructure of this sunny state can leave you feeling “landlocked” in pursuit of connection, creativity, joy, and justice, keep on shining your own light. It will always find its way and each is a beacon in our own ways.
To myself, a growing adult whose upbringing without means of self-transport depended on the grace of chauffeurs around me, exploring what my heart feels like to adventure. Remember that while your surroundings may have shaped you, they have never defined you. The tools to make what you wish to see out of this world have always been in your hands.

Thank you to the artist that guided me through my high school chapter and showed me the love in myself, people, and the world.
For a while I was lost in music and thoughts that burdened my soul with the heavy subjects I was surrounded by, but finding your music was the perspective I needed to lift my spirit into something better and for that I’m forever grateful. You’ve taught me one of my greatest lessons in life and that is to not only spread the love you receive, but also to be the one to give it to yourself.
Even though I don’t listen to you as frequently as I used to, your impact still resonates within me as now more than ever I am sensitive to the beauty the world has to offer when you stop to smell the flowers.
Ever since then my life sings of love within and around me, and in my times of need, you are still the one I listen to to carry me home.
