more visual development of my personal project

I have been working on this for years, I have many designs, stories and symbols of this world that I am creating. But I don't feel quite right showing it, that's why I upload it and sometimes delete it... It's so personal that I feel like it's not good, that it's not enough. I'm enjoying the journey but I'm having a hard time sharing it 🥲

Illustrating the covers for the 10th anniversary edition of the Nevernight trilogy by @misterkristoff has been an immense honour and, at the same time, one of the greatest responsibilities I have taken on as an artist. It is a deeply beloved saga, with a passionate and devoted community of readers, and that gave this project a very special weight. But for me, there was also an added emotion: the original covers were illustrated by @jasonchanart , an artist I have admired since I first began my journey in illustration, and whose work has stayed with me throughout the years. It was not an easy road. There were several moments when I completely broke down, overwhelmed by the feeling that I might not be capable of doing it justice. I had to redo some of the covers three or four times because I simply did not feel they were good enough, and having such a limited amount of time to complete them made the whole process incredibly stressful and difficult. It was intense, delicate, and deeply challenging work. But it was also an act of complete dedication. I poured the very best of myself into these covers, with the hope of honouring the strength, the darkness, and the beauty of Nevernight. I want to give very special thanks to my wife @eme.mars_tattoo , for her unconditional support, for always being there, and for pushing me forward when I no longer believe in myself. None of this would have been possible without her. And also to @misterkristoff , for his trust and for his constant support throughout this entire process. My gratitude to him is infinite. Thanks to @harpervoyager_uk and @thelockedlibrary for make it real too! I hope these covers reflect the care, dedication, and respect with which they were created, and that they can honour, in some small way, the legacy of Nevernight. Hope you like it 💙🙏

✨ This journey ends today After more than a year of work, I can finally present this illustration. It has been an extensive and meticulous process, developed alongside other projects, with constant dedication to achieve the result I was aiming for. This is not just an illustration: it is time, patience, frustration, learning, and a part of me that will stay forever in this piece. There were moments when I honestly doubted I could finish it. The project overwhelmed me more than once, and I was about to set it aside, but returning to it with perspective and consistency ended up being the key to bringing it to completion. In these times when everything seems instant, it reminds me that the journey itself is what matters most, not just the final result. Thanks to @luismi_revenant for commissioning it and giving me all the time in the world to do it properly. Thanks to my wife @eme.mars_tattoo for never letting me fall and for believing in me when I didn’t believe in myself. I hope you all like it! ✨🖤
