Last week was the third installment of Resistance on Tap put on by the Racial Justice Network at Pryes Brewery.
Tuesday night’s featured guest was William Kelly, aka DaWokeFarmer. Kelly is a military veteran born in Connecticut. He is an outspoken activist, and came to the Twin Cities after seeing what was happening with Operation Metro Surge. William was also part of the Righteous 39, a group unlawfully arrested for the protest against ICE Field Director David Easterwood, where he is also a pastor at Cities Church in St. Paul. William Kelly has become a prime figure in the movement of resistance.
What is Resistance on Tap? Each iteration has a featured guest, where the speaker chats a bit about themselves and how they got involved in what they are doing now. It’s a safe space where you can ask questions and discuss topics with other like-minded individuals.

Today (4/7/14) Nekima Levy Armstrong held a press conference outside the Western District Police Station in Saint Paul. There were many speakers including Chauntyll Allen, Emily Phillips and Monique Cullars Doty
This was calling for all charges to be dropped against those who were arrested while protesting during operation metro surge.
This comes after the arrest of Emily Phillips this last weekend for peacefully protesting near Cities Church. She was held overnight and charges were dismissed the very next day with the judge finding no probable cause.
