My new EP “Voil” is out today! It consists of four complex but groovy, murky but mysterious, off-kilter dancefloor ideas. I’m very happy that release day is finally here. It’s been a lot of work, figuring out how to do this on my own. Releasing on your own is a double-edged sword, you have full artistic control but have to rely completely on yourself. Next time, I will try not to spend so long on the artwork - gosh! Thanks to everyone who has been supporting it so far - the positive messages, the radio and club plays, every like on a post - it encourages me to keep sharing and working. Here are some of the artwork ideas that I came up with before settling on the final artwork for Voil EP. Making visual art isn’t something that I have a lot of experience with, so it was quite the challenge starting virtually from scratch. All these ideas were made using some sort of vector graphic software (Adobe Illustrator, Affinity Designer). After many attempts, I still wasn’t able to create something with enough detail that I was happy with. I mentioned my struggles to my friend Nick, and he suggested that I use more photography in my process (that’s a fast way to achieve detail). His suggestion reminded me that I played around with scanners for some poster artworks in 2016, so I decided to give that another go. To my delight, I was finally able to produce something that spoke to me, and which embodied how I feel about the music in this EP - abstract, with many layers, and with a sense of the unknown. Hello everyone, I finished some new music and it’s coming out on the 3rd October. I’m releasing this myself, which is the first time I’ve done something like this. It’s been a really long process, bringing everything together, but I believe it will be worthwhile. I’ve been working on music much more slowly since 2020. I’ve sent new music to labels, but nothing worked out. The natural progression became to stand on my own two feet and see what happens if I release my work myself. @laurent_garnier has just released his Fabric mix - and as if doing a fabric mix wasn’t impressive enough, he’s only gone and done four at once. I’m chuffed to say that he’s included my track Flurry, in the fourth mix, House Odyssey. This 4-mix compilation is available now on CD, with selected tracks from each mix also available on vinyl. Picture this: an oasis in Lichtenberg, away from the crowds, where people can chill out in a bounce house and dance however the fuck they want. After every soul sweated it out for a solid 10 hours of rave, Aroent and Neinzer took over the decks for one final jam to wrap May Day up. We recorded that beast of a set, and here it is: Vision 020 w/ Aroent B2B Neinzer! Having previously played together at Refuge Worldwide, the synergy between these two is evident, and you can sense a genuine friendship and understanding in the way they mix their tunes: their silky smooth selections of UK techno and breaks create a sonic dialogue that intertwines just perfectly. Like a tour de force of complex percussive structures and four by four fan favorites, the many twists and turns keep things fresh throughout its over 2-hour duration.
