One of our field namesakes, Dr. Bonnie Newsom joined us to bring artifacts from the @university.of.maine Climate Change Institute into our Expo. We were able to recognize her contributions during our Saturday Opening Ceremony and present her with a framed rendering of the field bearing her name!
Special thanks to our event speakers representing NE FIRST sponsors, for joining us throughout the weekend's ceremonies:
✨ Christine Miska, FIRST mentor and engineering director for @baesystemsinc

That's a WRAP on REBUILT in New England! ⌛
For the fifth year in a row, NE FIRST returned to The Big E for our weekend-long robotics showcase featuring all FIRST programs together on one fairground. For the FIRST AGE season, 💯 FRC teams in two divisions competed like crazy to see who would take home the title of New England District Champions!
All six New England states were represented, battling it out to see who would earn one of 32 qualifying spots at the FIRST Championship in Houston, Texas, next week 🤠
Our end-of-season celebration would not have been possible without the efforts of nearly 300 incredible volunteers, whether they planned for months for a great team experience or they held field and pit roles to make everything run smoothly all weekend.
Check out some of our photos from last Wednesday load in and Thursday's kickoff to qualification matches...stay tuned for our recap of the entire weekend this week! 📸

We're not counting down the days to just one event next weekend. We're ready for TWO culminating competitions for FIRST Robotics Competition and FIRST Tech Challenge!
Today we celebrate the inspiration for our second annual New England Premier Event Divisions: MARTIN and CROCK!
We brought the tradition of naming divisions after New England STEM leaders that embody the seasonal theme to the New England Premier Event last year! For FIRST AGE, we are inspired by:
🔍 Dr. Alix Martin, an archaeologist at Strawbery Banke Museum in Portsmouth, maintaining the museum’s collection of over one million archaeological artifacts. She is also a faculty fellow in anthropology at University of New Hampshire.
Dr. John Gordon Crock, archaeologist specializing in pre-Contact northeastern North America and the pre-Columbian Caribbean. He currently teaches at University of Vermont and is the Director of their Consulting Archaeology Program.
Winners of the MARTIN Division and the CROCK Division will once again face off on INGENUITY field to become New England Champions!
We are thrilled to honor those who bring the past to life at the New England Premier Event at The Big E next weekend!
