Words from the nomination — Kristen has been an invaluable member of our school community for 7 years now. Kristen fosters strong and enduring relationships with all students and especially those needing additional support. She holds true to her grounding philosophy that all behavior expresses a need and that when students struggle to meet expectations they are doing the best they can and our job as educators is to view these opportunities as teaching moments. Kristen also excels at collaborating with colleagues. She works collaboratively to create positive behavior support plans, implement check in / check outs, provide breaks for students, and be on call to support students with escalating behavior. Ms. Kron is an invaluable resource to colleagues to brainstorm strategies and supports colleagues in implementing those strategies.

The high winds didn’t stop us from having anything but BEACH DAY VIBES 🏖️ as we were heading into Spring Break! The students had a blast playing “beach volleyball” in the Kiva, enjoying some summer time tunes while doing the limbo, and even got to do a little drawing of a beach 🦀 and ocean 🦈 creature. Who knew the floor was LAVA in the gym?! These 1st graders had to work on balance and teamwork during PE to move from one end of the gym to the other by only stepping on the provided materials and not the gym floor! @bvsdcolorado

Ned shreds! ⛷️🏂
Our coaches had an awesome time working with the students at Nederland elementary school. Ned shreds is an awesome program that gets local kids skiing and snowboarding. These kids are the future of the sport and we couldn’t be more stoked to do it again next year! 🤙
The NES Spelling Bee 🐝 was a success!! Congratulations to our overall winner, Sawyer from 4th grade!! 👏 All of our participants put in a lot of time to prepare for the event and it’s safe to say we have some smarty pantzzzzzz spellerzzzzzz up here in Ned!! 😉 @bvsdcolorado

Students listened to the book “Why Not You?” and reflected on how they see themselves now and in the future. They were then given the opportunity to help create the “Faces of NES.” The power and passion that fueled our students as they created their personal portrait was exciting to watch!
