კატრინ ბოლტი (დაბადებული 1979) ცხოვრობს და მუშაობს ვენაში. სწავლობდა ვენის სამხატვრო აკადემიაში, პიტერ კუგლერის ჯგუფში - ახალ მედიებს 1997-2003 წლებში. 2000-დან 2003 წლამდე იგი მუშაობდა მარლენ ჰარინგთან ერთად, როგორც ›Halt + Boring‹. ბოლტი საჯარო სივრცის ცნებას აფართოვებს და ხელოვნების პოტენციალს ყოველდღიურობაში იკვლევს. ყოველდღიურობის აღქმის მოულოდნელ ვერსიებს გვთავაზობს. კატრინი ღირებულებების გადაფესებას იუმორის, ირონიის და გაყალბების საშუალებით აღწევს, როგორც წარმოსახვით, ასევე რეალური საზოგადოებრივი აბსურდის სისტემების სისტემებს ქმნის. -- Catrin Bolt (born 1979) lives and works in Vienna. She studied at the academy of fine arts Vienna in the department for New Media (Peter Kogler) from 1997 to 2003. Between 2000 and 2003 she was working with Marlene Haring as ›Halt + Boring‹. Bolt deals with the complexity of spaces and places in regard to content, history and architecture. Through her photos, sculptures or installations – with minimal interventions and unorthodox representation they get comprehensible in their complexity.
Apart from the notion of the expanded public space and the conceptual questioning of exhibitions, the artist is exploring the potential of art in daily spaces. With the use and de-perspectivation of everyday items, which playfully get symbolically revalued, as well as with artistic tricks, like fiction, fake and subtle irritations, she wrests new views from social conditions. With these strategies she unveils social absurdities as well as the imaginary, but real force of sign-systems.
