Experimenting with images that merge architectural representation with building performance concepts—pairing atmospheric renderings with diagrams that reveal airflow, insulation continuity, solar gain, and thermal bridges. The goal is to make the invisible layers of building science as compelling and legible as the architecture itself.
Inspired by the work of Atelier Bow-Wow and LTL Architects, whose drawings blur the line between technical diagram and architectural storytelling. It’s a reminder that performance and beauty don’t have to live in separate drawings.

Back in December I visited Milo from @starcontractingco and Matt from @hue_architecture at their project in Dorchester, MA.
This affordable housing project for the City of Boston absolutely blows its predecessors out of the water. The level of care, detailing, and construction quality isn’t even a comparison to what affordable housing looked like a decade ago. It’s a great example of how thoughtful design, strong collaboration, and high-performance standards can completely change expectations.
Excited to see projects like this raising the bar for what affordable housing can be.

From early design moves through construction execution, Harmony House demonstrates what’s possible when energy, comfort, and durability are treated as core design drivers.

Colorado puts building science to the test.
From high desert heat in Paonia to mountain snow in Silverthorne, from the cool alpine air of Twin Lakes to the dense forests of Conifer — each site presents a new version of “extreme.”
Coming from the milder, humid climates of New York, it’s a reminder of how adaptable the Passive House standard can be — and how detailing, orientation, and construction methods must respond to every shift in altitude and weather.
Exciting to see this next wave of Colorado projects pushing performance across such a wide range of conditions.
