This beautiful lady is my mom. Ever since she retired she has been on a baking journey. This is one of her many recipes called banh da lon. It's a South Vietnamese steamed layered cake. It's infused with pandan, mung bean and coconut milk. I swear my mom could sell these desserts at a little boutique somewhere. That's how good her baking is. I hope you guys enjoy this little story of her baking.

These were taken on a 5 day hike in Peru called the Salkantay Trek. Hiked as high as 15000ft and a total of 65km. I got to see sites like Humantay Lake, Salkantay Mountain and Machu Picchu (that's a separate post). Was it worth it? Hell ya. Would I do it again? Hell no.

Surprise, more New Zealand mountains. I'm still going through my photos and slowly processing them.
This was the Routeburn track. One of the easier hikes for a great view. I don't know which mountain this was but the way the mountain reflects off the pond, magnificent. Lake Marian, hidden in the mountains (pics 3 & 4), was a privilege to see. I had to wait for the clouds to move in order to even see the lake.
Apologies for the vignettes, my variable ND filter is from temu lol.

Idk if I'm lucky that there was a rain storm and I got to see hundreds of waterfalls flowing down but also, I like being dry. The waterfalls were beautiful though don't get me wrong but I cant imagine how crazy the fiords would look during a sunny day.

Roy's Peak, a 16km hike that took about 5hrs to complete. I know that doesn't sound a lot but this was one of the harder hikes I've been on. Steep hills going up which meant my knees are crying going down. Being in your 30s and your knees... I don't like it here

"New Zealand is world-renowned for having a massive sheep-to-human ratio, often cited as having roughly 4.5 to 5 sheep for every person (over 24 million sheep vs. 5.3 million people)"

It only takes one to start a revolution...

Wanaka was one of my favourite towns that I encountered in NZ. Various plant life that you would only imagine are in fantasy movies. From the willow tree sitting alone in Wanaka Lake, the giant Sequoia tree, to the mountain views. I was lost in awe when I first arrived. The magic wares off after you find out most plant life was imported lol.
WANAKA FOREVER 🙅

The weather in South Island, New Zealand was wild. One second it's sunshine and shorts and the next it's wet and pouring. The first picture depicts the bipolar weather perfectly. On the right side you can see the mountains clearly with no overcast but on the left it's the total opposite. Mountains hidden away by dense rainfall. I don't remember what road we were on but the 2nd picture is on our way to Milford Sound. Those pics are coming soon when I'm not too lazy to post.

A rainbow we saw while driving in the South Island after a rain storm. The weather in New Zealand's South Island is so temperamental. Stay tuned to see a picture of what I'm talking about.
