Seeding chickpeas today. They are blue because of the seed treatment and people don’t think it’s funny when I tell them we are seeding blueberries!
Chickpeas are a great rotational crop and helps make sure our soils are healthy and helps our next year’s crops as well. Based on an average yield, the harvest should produce (assuming it rains someday) enough chickpeas to make 3.5 million pounds of hummus.
